I was introduced to the world of horses at the age of 33, when I came to own a wonderful Anglo-Arabian named Jumada Al-Akira, a beautiful 17-year-old chestnut, with a big blaze, four white socks, and the perfect attitude for a beginning rider. A true steady companion, Jummy and I rode together virtually every day, for the next five years. He taught me much about sitting properly through all the gaits and transitions. Before Jumada passed away, I came to own my second horse; my dear friend, MT Rhoky. He was kind enough to pose with me for my home page photo. A Polish Arabian, Rocky wasn’t exactly finished when we met, as he taught me many times how to fall properly from an untrained horse’s back! I decided, for the sake of my own skin and my horse’s honor, to learn as much as I could about horse-teaching (vis-a-vis, training!). The payoff has been tremendous! I have come to realize that the horse is God’s perfect creation of willing partnership with Man, if only we make the effort to meet them on a common ground of understanding. I hope my experience, expressed in the images I capture on camera, help to reveal something of this nature to the viewer. The unity of the perfect ride, the power of a thousand pounds of bone and muscle, the serenity of the pasture, the ever-evaluating aspect of their gaze. Enjoy. I thank you for your support!
